This 6-unit course focuses on major themes that are universal in business, including employee and company history, job descriptions, areas of responsibility, product comparisons, decision making, and planning, as well as the language concepts, grammar, and vocabulary necessary for communication in different industrial and business contexts. As students go through the course, they develop their listening comprehension, oral fluency, meeting skills, and confidence in English.

Present company products, location, customers, history, etc. Introduce and talk about business in a social setting. Ask questions about a company & its products
Work Experience
Review job descriptions, work history, responsibilities, organizational charts, and changes. Ask questions relevant to an interview situation.
Manufacturing & Trade
Use quantitative expressions to refer to sales, manufacturing, and trade data. Talk about how and why something is used. Ask and answer questions using quantitative expressions
Product Comparisons

Get intensive listening practice with Dialogue, a supplementary English course focused on televised interviews on topics of general interest. Originally broadcast on China Central Television (CCTV), Dialogue’s advanced content helps higher-level learners prepare for university lectures, discussion groups, conferences, and international business presentations in English.
Each of the three interviews represents approximately seven hours of study in three parts: presentation, interactive listening, and language skills. The language is authentic and is spoken at a natural pace, with false starts and overlapping sentences. The course also accustoms students to communicating with non-native speakers in the global business environment.

The Lost Secret is an engaging mystery story that has become a favorite of students and teachers around the world. The language in it is presented and sequenced through a complete structural and functional syllabus, beginning at an elementary level and progressing to an intermediate level, in a mix of British and American English, spoken naturally and in context by a cast of highly-acclaimed actors.
The Lost Secret has a variety of lesson types, each of which keeps learners engaged with the language in different ways, promoting long-term learning.
General Listening
Comprehension checks challenge students as they go through the story. Questions vary according to performance. As a student gets more correct answers, different questions will begin to appear. Students may also use the Voice Recording feature to develop their oral fluency.
Dialog Focus
In the Dialog Focus lessons students use Speech Recognition to ‘speak’ their part in the dialog. This provides useful repetition and helps to develop pronunciation and oral fluency.
Dictations
In dictation exercises, students listen to each sentence and then click on the correct words to fill in each space. Review important sections of the video by choosing the correct words to complete the conversations. Listening-based reinforcement of important expressions and grammar.
Fill-Ins
Students review and develop their grammar and vocabulary in the fill-in lessons. Gap-filling exercises provide intensive practice at the sentence level. Focuses on detailed comprehension, basic grammar and meaning distinctions, and inferring from context.
